All you need to do to get started is to certify that your music can be played royalty-free in our worldwide network of cafés. This means that you agree that organizations such as ASCAP, BMI, SACEM, SESAC, STEF and others will not be authorized to collect royalties from venues linked to our network.
It is important that you understand the difference between mechanical and performance royalties. Mechanical royalties are what you collect from Spotify and other stores when your music is streamed. Performance royalties are what you collect when your music is performed live, played in a café, or on certain radio stations. What you agree to give up is your performance royalties. You will still collect all your royalties from Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal and similar services.
